Aquatic fungal biodiversity
Developing knowledge and strategies
to inform conservation priorities and measures
Research overview ︎︎︎
Aquatic fungi are an important part of the aquatic ecosystem and play a fundamental role in maintaining the health of aquatic ecosystems. These fungi are found in all kind of aquatic environments including lakes, rivers, streams, swamps, and oceans.
The following four articles summarise the key questions guiding Funaction research.
01
What are aquatic fungi?
Aquatic fungi rely on aquatic habitats for the whole or part of their life cycle.
︎︎︎
02
Why is conservation of aquatic fungi important?
Aquatic fungi provide us with important ecosystem services.
